How to play

Every player gets the same seven prompts. Type one answer per prompt. A valid answer that fewer people use scores more depth than an obvious one.

  1. 1.Read the prompt and think of a clearly valid answer.
  2. 2.Ask whether a more specific version is still acceptable.
  3. 3.Submit before the timer ends. Blank or rejected answers score nothing.
  4. 4.Finish all seven prompts, then compare your depth.

What Krillion is

Krillion is a free daily trivia game you can play in the browser. It is not a multiple-choice quiz. Each prompt is an open category — name a fruit, a sea, a dish, a character — and you have a short window to type a single answer.

Being correct is only the first filter. After you submit, your word is compared with other valid answers for that prompt. If thousands of players typed the same safe word, you barely move. If your answer is accepted and uncommon, you sink. The round takes about two minutes and resets on a daily schedule.

How depth is scored

Krillion turns rarity into an ocean descent. Each point is worth 10 metres. A crowded answer keeps you near the surface. A rare accepted answer can drop you through darker water. A near-perfect day lands around 700 points, or about 7,000 metres.

  • Sunlit water: common, safe answers. Fine as a lock-in, weak as a final pick.
  • Twilight: valid answers that most people skip on the first thought.
  • Midnight and abyss: specific names, species, titles, and niche knowledge.
  • Trench floor: the rarest accepted answer of the day. High reward, easy to miss if you get too clever and get rejected.

How to go deeper

The expensive mistake is a clever answer the game does not accept. Lock a safe valid word first, then upgrade only when the rarer choice is still obvious.

  • Scan all seven prompts before you spend time on a hard one. Put your strongest niche where it pays.
  • Prefer a precise noun with one common spelling over a vague category word.
  • If a prompt allows it, a species, full title, or proper name usually beats a broad label.
  • Do not burn the whole timer on one prompt. Six solid answers beat one blank.
