Rules, examples, and game modes

How to play Krillion.org

Read a category, enter one answer, and see how the game scores it. Start here for the rules, a practice example, and the differences between six ways to play.

What happens in a round?

  1. Read the prompt and its conditions. Decide whether it asks for a person, place, work, word, or another kind of thing.
  2. Enter one clear answer while time remains. A standard round gives about 20 seconds; always follow the timer displayed in your game.
  3. Submit the answer. If it is unrecognized and time remains, the game can let you try again. An unrecognized entry is not proof that a real-world fact is false.
  4. Continue through the prompts and review the final result. Scores are assigned by the game's published answer bank; they are not calculated from the current percentage of players choosing your answer.

Less obvious recognized answers can receive higher scores. An unfamiliar or misspelled answer is not automatically a better choice. If you believe a valid answer is missing, report the prompt and a supporting source.

Try a category check before playing

This is a teaching exercise, not a live question or a preview of the private game bank.

Prompt: Choose a positive whole number below 20 that is divisible by 3.

Check yourself: does 18 fit?

Yes. It is positive, below 20, and 18 ÷ 3 = 6. This exercise has several valid answers. It teaches category fit and does not assign a game score or claim which answer is rarest.

Daily Dive

A mixed-topic challenge of seven prompts. The daily challenge is shared; read the date displayed in the game before you start. A new scheduled challenge follows the UTC day, so your local calendar can differ. A saved game can belong to an earlier day.

Read both the requested kind of answer and its condition. A prompt asking for a city is different from one asking for a country. Keep one answer you know is valid while considering a less obvious alternative. In Daily Dive, each score point becomes ten metres of depth; depth is a presentation of points, not a real-world distance or a live popularity statistic.

Endless Dive

Choose this mode for another mixed-topic run after the daily challenge. Each run contains seven prompts and there is no daily run limit. The available pool is finite: questions can repeat once the current pool has been used. Endless is not a promise of infinitely many unique questions.

Use one run to practice a specific skill, such as committing earlier or checking category boundaries. Afterward, distinguish a time-out from an unrecognized answer. More names to memorize will not repair a typing delay. Note the cause you can actually observe, then try one change in the next run.

Movies

Movie prompts test connections between films, people, characters, and filmmaking. Start with the entity named by the prompt. A director can be a useful cue for recalling a title, but their name is not an answer to a request for a film. Follow the in-game menu for today's challenge and available historical content.

Keep title, person, role, and year as separate fields in your memory map. A familiar movie does not establish every crew credit. If a condition narrows the era or type of work, verify that condition before entering the title. The city journey is the theme's score display; it does not change the need for an accepted answer.

Sports

Sports prompts may ask for a sport, competition, team, athlete, role, or piece of equipment. These levels are related but not interchangeable. Read whether the prompt asks for required equipment or something merely used in the sport. Use the game menu to find the currently available challenge rather than assuming every numbered collection is published.

When recalling a team, keep its competition separate from a specific match. When recalling a player, distinguish their identity from a role or position. Conditions involving a season or event need that same time context. Start with a branch you know well instead of searching every sport at once.

Geography

Geography asks you to identify places and geographic relationships. A country, city, island, and river need different answers. A place can satisfy one relationship and fail another, so familiarity alone is not a validity check. The game menu provides access to the available daily and historical challenges.

Build a short route from region to the requested entity, then check the final condition. For a capital-city prompt, recalling the country is only the first step. For a river prompt, a nearby city is a cue rather than a substitute. Where a prompt has a specific geographic scope, use that scope instead of extending the question to a disputed edge case.

Language

Language presents seven daily word and language prompts in a notebook setting. Conditions can involve letters, spelling, meaning, or word classes. Read every condition before typing: a word that starts correctly can still fail the length or ending requirement. Availability follows the published daily schedule shown in the game.

Turn the wording into a small checklist. Count letters when a length is specified and distinguish a word's spelling from its meaning. Enter one clean response instead of a sentence explaining why it should count. The notebook uses a words-themed progress display; it does not measure your vocabulary size or provide a language proficiency assessment.

Saved progress, practice, and a new day

Progress belongs to this browser's anonymous game cookie. Returning in the same browser can resume a saved game; a different device does not automatically share it. Clearing cookies can lose access to your progress and does not itself delete server records. If a new day is available while an earlier game is saved, use the game's displayed options to choose what to play. Where practice is offered, it is distinguished from the original daily result.

Use Display and Easy Read in the game toolbar to adjust readability. If a challenge cannot load, check your connection and use the retry or game-menu controls. Switching away from an active timed round does not pause its clock.
